The DJI Hyperlapse app allows geotags to be added to the hyperlapse clip. However, you’ll want to have the geotags applied to the footage BEFORE you shoot the hyperlapse. Remember – Geotags applied after the fact mean the hyperlapse will appear in your camera roll in PAL (Video standard) with no data.
A field that provides a contrast between the objects you want in your hyperlapse and other objects in the background of the scene is ideal. You can use a beautiful sunlit sky in your hyperlapse, but it should look like it was shot during a golden hour and not simply constructed.
Video is meant to be enjoyed, so it’s key that you shoot a 3D hyperlapse. Using a hand-held shooting style with a blurred background creates a more cinematic effect. While multiple cameras can be used to shoot the hyperlapse in all directions, I prefer to use a high-end DJI camera with multiple lenses to avoid having to rebuy lenses if the costs come out as expected. Remember that if you shoot a hyperlapse using the multicamera function in the DJI app, the angles will appear the same throughout the composition. This is a flaw in my opinion, rather than a positive attribute.
Wait about three minutes before pressing the record button one last time. To avoid any erratic motion once the clip begins, be sure to limit your total footage to 30 seconds. If you’re not shooting at the right time of day, the length of the clip will be shorter and it will be harder to see the different scenes. d2c66b5586
