The study considered highway, rail, and intercity passenger transport modes. The analysis included five future time horizons: 1) 2025; 2) 2040; 3) 2050; 4) 2075; and 5) 2100. The analysis took the perspective of a U.S. household. These data were collected and analyzed by the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy (ACEEE).

The system must be capable of being installed on two-axle trucks, three-axle trucks, and double-stack containers.
